Eric: Still working as an R&D engineer at a company that makes automated factory vehicles. His work involves making sure the "brains" (electronics and embedded software) on the autonomous forklifts and clamp trucks are working properly. In addition, TargetSpeed is still selling steadily and takes a couple weekends every few months to keep up with sales.
Becky: Busy full-time at home with all the laundry, cooking, cleaning and errands to make a six-member household run smoothly. We're still line-drying all our clothes (to save money, to be "green" and because it makes the clothes last longer) so that's even more time spent on an already busy schedule. She helps out at school for something nearly every week and enjoys her mornings home with Sarah (who has afternoon kindergarten). Also, Becky still leads a women’s ministry Bible study at church.
Dan: Keeping himself busy with string bass, alto saxophone, and chorus in fifth grade this year. He's also taking private drum and piano lessons and helping with tech (audio and video) each weekend for three services at our church. For his 2008/2009 challenge project at school, he did a report on police officers and got to visit the local police station. He's heading off to middle school next year so that will be a big change for him. Of course, he's on the threshold of adolescence as well, so more transitions are in store for all of us.
Lauren: Running strong in fourth grade this year, learning viola and flute at school and singing in the chorus. For her 2008/2009 challenge class, she learned about knitting and created a game. And on the weekends at church, she helps with the Compassion Corner (food pantry) ministry by helping stock shelves and sort/organize coupons. She also loves to sing and act in our church musicals. She's also often found reading or spending time with a logic puzzle book.
Natalie: Loves to be creative by making crafts and books, playing games and working with Legos. This year she is in first grade and is enjoying every minute of it. She's very outgoing and has lots of friends at school and church. She is athletic and likes to run, jump, play in the creek, shoot hoops, and play soccer. Bible reading is a favorite pastime as well as hanging out with Sarah. The two of them are great friends and play very well together.
Sarah: Busy, busy Sarah is always doing something. There's never a dull moment and always something to do when she's around. She loves to help out around the house and often makes craft projects in her spare time. She plays for hours at the Lego table and spends a lot of time reading. She is enjoying kindergarten very much and is looking forward to first grade. Following in her older siblings' footsteps, she is friendly, articulate and sweet.
